Muitas pessoas aceitam a situação de massacres de populações indefesas em Gaza e noutras paragens, porque foram condicionadas durante muito tempo a verem certos povos como "inimigos". Porém, as pessoas de qualquer povo estão sobretudo preocupadas com os seus afazeres quotidianos e , salvo tenham sido também sujeitas a campanhas de ódio pelos seus governos, não nutrem antagonismo por outro povo. Na verdade, os inimigos são as elites governantes e as detentoras das maiores riquezas de qualquer país. São elas que instigam os sentimentos de ódio através da média que controlam.
